Alexei Ivanov, the Director of the HSE-Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development, told how Russia could go to digital level in agriculture.

Mr. Ivanov suggests Russia to build direct relations with ultimate customers — the countries of the Middle East and North Africa by means of digitalization of global economic relations. Such a scheme would allow Russia to define its own rules of the game and to overcome the «bottleneck of the global oligopoly», which today is formed by a small group of traders: ADM, Bunge, Cargill and Louis Dreyfus, Glencore.

Within the framework of the Agrofinmost project, the HSE team has already developed an organizational and legal model of Russia’s interaction with the countries of the Middle East, which is based on the traditions of Islamic law and is focused on stability and longtermness.
