The Vice Rector of the Higher School of Economics Ivan Prostakov and the Vice Rector of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (Qatar) Mikael Benedik signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the sidelines of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 5th, 2021. The official signing ceremony was attended by the lead expert of the HSE — Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development, head of the Agrofinmost project Mikhail (Shamil) Orlov.
It is planned that the HSE-Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development and the University’s College of Islamic Studies will develop joint projects and research cooperation inter alia in the field of food security and Islamic finance, which meets the goals and objectives of the Agrofinmost project.
The Agrofinmost project has been implemented by the HSE — Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development since 2019. The essence of the project is to ensure food security in the countries of the Middle East, on the one hand, and to form fair conditions for international trade without speculation and based on Islamic legal principles, on the other hand.
