Alexei Ivanov, the Director of the HSE-Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development, addressed the senators at the 509th meeting of the Upper House of the Russian Parliament, and spoke about the strategy of Russia’s presence on foreign markets and the technological development of the agro-industrial complex of Russia.

According to Mr. Ivanov, «the crop production industry could be a very important addition to our export potential. It has opportunities for both extensive growth and yield increase».

Moreover, the crop production industry could become a powerhouse for the development of a completely new sector of economy — «carbon farming», which will allow, as Aleksey Ivanov considers, not only to reduce the carbon footprint, but also to create mechanisms for managing the carbon agenda, which is so relevant today for the world.
